Follow us on Google NewsSamsung’s mobile wallet is becoming a stablecoin payments gateway, with direct transfers of USD coin now enabled for a Galaxy device, eliminating the need for a distinct crypto wallet.
The rollout begins in the last week of October 2026 for eligible users in the United States and connects Samsung Wallet with Coinbase, Bastion, Solana and Sui.
Samsung Wallet Adds Native USDC TransfersGalaxy users who meet the requirements will be able to transfer USDC instantly from Samsung Wallet to the compatible crypto wallets in the world.
According to Samsung, transfers are made in a second and for free. Additionally, users can transfer money to a compatible bank account in over 60 countries and receive payment in local currency directly into their bank account.
The feature aims to eliminate a few hurdles that generally plague crypto payments, such as the need to create an alternative wallet and control private keys and switch between various applications. Initially, it will be supported in about 82 million U.S. Galaxy handsets.
Coinbase Prime Will Custody Samsung Wallet USDCThe platform Coinbase will be a key piece of the new stablecoins framework. For eligible users, when they fund their Samsung Wallet stablecoin balance, a USDC display will be the default dollar stable when they select it.
Coinbase Prime Vault will be used to protect the assets but Bastion will offer the payments infrastructure that is regulated in the stablecoins. Samsung Galaxy phones will be the secure connection, and users will need to use their biometric authentication for transfers.

Solana and Sui Power the Blockchain LayerFurther, Samsung is also incorporating into its blockchain network infrastructure Solana‘s and Sui’s. Samsung Wallet will also enable native transfers of USDC from Solana, letting users transfer funds in the app where they transfer cards, IDs and boarding passes.
Mainstream adoption is here.

According to the Solana Foundation, the stablecoin supply on the chain has increased by nearly 20% YOY, and overall volume on stablecoins has topped the plan.
Sui is also rolling out a Samsung Wallet integration, thereby allowing transfers of USDC to take place between compatible Galaxy devices. Eliminating transfer fees transpires without requiring gas, thereby eliminating friction for people who don’t understand the blockchain transaction fees.

Stablecoins Move Closer to Everyday PaymentsSamsung’s strategy tries to shield the majority of the blockchain intricacies from their users. Customers touch Samsung Wallet, but Coinbase provides custodial services, Bastion provides the regulated payment system and networks like Solana and Sui do the underlying transactions.
Online stablecoin transactions and tap-to-pay in brick-and-mortar stores may be added in the future, while other markets remain to be determined by local regulations.
The launch will provide USDC with its biggest consumer distribution avenue to date, as well as direct access to a popular smartphone wallet.
