Follow us on Google NewsAgentic payments are now live on Arc, marking a new step toward automated crypto payments between AI agents, applications, and services. The launch is powered by Circle’s Facilitator Service, which provides a hosted path for builders using the x402 protocol to accept USDC payments with onchain settlement.
Agentic payments are live on Arc.
Our Facilitator Service gives x402 builders a hosted path to accept Circle-issued USDC, with onchain settlement supported on Arc, Base, and Polygon.

The update removes several technical hurdles that have traditionally complicated blockchain payments, making it easier for developers to monetize APIs, data services, and AI-powered applications.

Arc Integrates Circle’s Facilitator ServiceDevelopers can now integrate with Arc, Base, and Polygon PoS networks to accept Circle-issued USDC.
The system is built around Circle’s hosted Facilitator Service, which verifies buyer-signed payment authorizations and submits USDC transfers on the chain. Developers won’t need to coordinate relayers, set up the settlement infrastructure, or support gas fee wallets separately.
Before payment states are issued, Circle performs transaction broadcasting, performing settlements, and screening.
The service is built upon the x402 trading protocol and EIP-3009 authorization standard which means the users are not required to follow the standard flow of trading through the wallet for all interactions.

Agent-to-Agent Payments Move Closer to RealityThe introduction comes amid rising curiosity in machine-powered transactions where AI agents can explore services, make transactions, and then proceed with further job execution with limited human involvement.
Arc called the new system a “cleaner” way for agents to find, pay and stay on the go. The objective is to eliminate payment friction which can impact automated flows.
Developers can configure their individual price per request and string it up to the USDC Platform. This is especially relevant for AI use-cases that require data consumption, API usage, and/or dynamically acquired digital content.
What Builders Can CreateThe infrastructure backs various fresh use cases across the crypto and AI industry. What it means for developers is the ability to use metered API services and agents, settle marketplaces in USDC, or receive payments by an AI agent in automated workflows without needing to worry about usage fees.
A pathway for existing payment projects that have already adopted x402 protocol to move their payments into Circle’s hosted infrastructure, thereby streamlining and optimizing operations while still settling onchain.
The technology could be used to go beyond payments to trading, with USDC firmly established as a payment layer for autonomous software.
Multi-Chain USDC Settlement Without Extra InfrastructureOne of the leading capabilities of the Facilitator Service is its ability to facilitate more than one blockchain on a single integration.
Devs can now accept x402-based payments with the single setup, instead of creating individual payment systems for each network. This decreases operational complexity and increases network reach.
Additionally, additionally has a key demo: builders can experiment with the Circle service without developing a Circle account or handling API keys.
