Ethereum (ETH) Price Prediction: Whale Longs Surge as $2,200 Demand Zone Puts $3,000 Back in Focus

Ethereum is attempting to stabilize after another difficult stretch, with price returning to an area that has repeatedly played an important role in previous market cycles. The broader picture is beginning to split between price weakness and improving fundamentals. According to Brave New Coin, ETH price is trading around $2,291.31, up 1.08% over the past 24 hours.

Ethereum Returns to a Demand Zone Near $2,200

Ethereum is back inside one of the more important areas on its weekly chart. Blockto’s analysis places ETH inside a broad demand zone around $2,100-$2,400, an area that has acted as support during several previous market swings.

ETH price is now trading near $2,290 after testing the lower half of that zone. If buyers continue to defend the area, the first recovery would bring $2,600-$2,700 back into focus, followed by the broader $3,000-$3,200 region where Ethereum previously faced heavier resistance.

The downside scenario becomes more relevant if ETH starts losing the demand zone altogether. In that case, the weekly chart leaves room for a deeper move toward roughly $1,500-$1,600 before another major support area comes into play.

Further out, the chart continues to show the $4,100-$4,700 region as the major higher-timeframe resistance. Ethereum would need to rebuild through several levels before that zone becomes relevant again, but holding the current demand area would be the first step toward restoring that larger structure.

Whale Longs Build While ETF Pressure Remains High

Ethereum’s positioning data is starting to show a clear split between large traders and institutional fund flows. Merlin The Trader highlights a roughly 368% increase in whale long exposure, with whales now carrying around 3.6 times more long positions than they did in August.

That buildup suggests larger market participants are using the recent weakness to increase bullish exposure. Ethereum price is still trading close to its support region, so the increase in whale longs becomes more meaningful if price begins to stabilize and recover from current levels.

The ETF side remains less supportive. U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded approximately $155.7 million in net outflows on October 30, with BlackRock’s ETHA accounting for roughly $76.6 million of that total. Continued withdrawals show that institutional demand through ETF products has not yet matched the bullish positioning seen elsewhere in the market.

Ethereum Staking Adds Support to the Bullish Supply

The split between stronger whale positioning and weaker ETF flows is not the only development shaping Ethereum’s outlook. On the supply side, staking activity has continued to rise, with Cointelegraph reporting that more ETH moved into staking during October than in any previous month. Total staked ETH now stands near 44.2 million.

That trend matters because it reduces the amount of ETH that remains immediately available in the market at the same time whales are increasing long exposure. Even with ETF outflows still acting as a drag, a larger share of supply being locked away can help tighten the market if demand starts to recover.

The combination does not remove the need for price confirmation, but it strengthens the backdrop around the current support zone. If ETF pressure begins to ease while whale longs remain elevated, record staking activity could become another factor supporting a stronger recovery.

Ethereum Price Pattern Targeting $3,000

The improving fundamentals around Ethereum are beginning to show up on the chart as well. With whale longs rising and more ETH moving into staking, Max Crypto highlights a potential inverse head-and-shoulders pattern developing near the same demand region ETH price is currently trying to defend.

The right shoulder is still forming, which keeps the pattern unconfirmed for now. A recovery through the neckline around the mid-$2,500s would be the more important development, as that would show buyers are finally turning the recent accumulation and tighter supply conditions into actual price strength.

If that breakout develops, $3,000 becomes the next major level in the recovery path. Until then, the structure remains a developing reversal setup, with the recent lows needing to hold for the bullish pattern to stay intact.

ETH Price Technical Analysis

Ethereum is trying to recover after spending most of October under pressure. The one-month chart shows ETH falling from above $2,650 toward the $2,200 area before buyers finally produced a stronger reaction, with price now back near $2,287.

The latest rebound has improved the very short-term picture, but Ethereum price is still trading below several areas lost during the decline. The first challenge sits around $2,300-$2,350, while a stronger recovery would need to push back through roughly $2,400 before the October downtrend begins to look materially different.

The reaction around the recent low is encouraging, particularly after the increase in trading activity that accompanied the selloff. If ETH price continues building above $2,200 rather than immediately giving back the rebound, the current move could develop into a broader recovery attempt.

Final Thoughts: What’s Next in Q4 2026?

Ethereum enters the remaining part of Q4 with price still recovering from a difficult October, but the setup underneath the market has become more interesting. Whale longs are building, staking continues to remove ETH from the liquid supply, and the chart is beginning to show early reversal possibilities around a historically important demand region. ETF outflows remain the main piece still working against that improvement.

For the broader Ethereum Price Prediction, Q4 becomes more constructive if ETH price can turn the current rebound into acceptance above $2,300-$2,400 and eventually work back toward the mid-$2,000s. That would keep $3,000 relevant later in the quarter, while another loss of the $2,200 region would suggest Ethereum still has more work to do before a durable recovery develops.

Why this matters

Ethereum is showing up inside the Institutional Adoption theme, so this story is worth tracking for follow-through rather than treating it as a one-off headline.
