NFT marketplace Blur will stop running its blur.io website on Nov. 12, 2026, the team said on X on Monday, Oct. 12.
The change is limited to the web interface, according to the post. “The Blur marketplace protocol will remain operational on-chain, and $BLUR will continue to control its fee switch,” Blur wrote in the post.
A fee switch is a governance setting that decides whether a protocol collects fees on the activity that runs through it. Blur’s three-post thread did not say whether that setting would change, and it gave no reason for retiring the site.
The BLUR token traded near $0.0123 at 8:10 a.m. UTC on Tuesday, down about 34% over the previous 24 hours, a window that began before Blur’s post, according to CoinGecko data. Its market value stood at roughly $35.8 million.

Blend Loans Wind Down on the Same DateThe same deadline applies to Blend, Blur’s peer-to-peer NFT lending product. “Blend will stop matching new loans on November 12, 2026,” Blur wrote in the second post of its thread. “Borrowers have until then to repay their loans or allow them to default.”
Once the deadline passes, Blur said, it will offer a frontend tool that lets users take their assets out of Blend. The post did not say when that tool would be available. In the third and final post of the thread, Blur warned users about impersonators and fraudulent announcements, adding, “The only official Blur account is @blur_io.”
The Blast Wind-DownThe Blur announcement arrived 10 days after Blast, the Ethereum layer-2 network that Blur founder Tieshun “Pacman” Roquerre created, said it was shutting down. Blast said on Oct. 2 that the ongoing costs of maintaining the chain “exceed the revenue generated by the L2.”
Blast gave users until Oct. 26 to withdraw through its normal interface. After that date, Blast said, funds can still be withdrawn, but only by calling its Ethereum-side bridge contracts directly.
For Blur, the same split now applies on a different timeline: the company’s own website goes away on Nov. 12, while, per its post, the marketplace contracts and the BLUR token’s control of the fee switch remain in place onchain.
