Illuminance Global highlights Visa’s expansion of stablecoin infrastructure into onchain credit, marking a shift beyond payments and settlement toward liquidity and financing. Stablecoins are entering a new phase of financial infrastructure, with Visa extending its stablecoin strategy beyond movement and settlement into onchain credit. By combining VisaNet settlement data with blockchain-based lending infrastructure, the initiative is designed to support working capital in a digital, always-on financial environment.
According to Visa, more than $694 billion in stablecoin-denominated loans have moved through onchain lending protocols since 2020, while Visa’s stablecoin settlement volume has surpassed a $20 billion annualized run rate. The developments highlight how blockchain infrastructure is evolving beyond the movement of money to support liquidity, financing, and credit.
For Illuminance Global, this transition is already underway. Illuminance Investment Inc. is a Beta Participant in the Visa Stablecoin Platform (VSP), an environment created by Visa to give financial institutions, fintechs, and digital-asset companies access to stablecoin operations through a unified infrastructure. Alongside its work in stablecoin infrastructure, Illuminance has now introduced its own credit layer through a dedicated USD 1.5 million funding pool and the Credit Leverage Strategy, allowing eligible participants to receive up to 50% additional operating capacity within the strategy. The Illuminance credit structure remains independently issued and administered by Illuminance Investment Inc.; its development runs in parallel with the broader direction in which Visa and other participants across the digital-finance ecosystem are bringing credit infrastructure onchain.
This development is also part of the broader Illuminance Digital Bank roadmap. Stablecoin infrastructure created the foundation for digital movement and settlement; liquidity and credit now add the next financial layers. The long-term direction is an environment where digital assets, stablecoins, settlement, liquidity, and credit are no longer separate products, but interconnected components of one financial architecture.
