Fresh in the current trading session. A tracked entity is involved.
- Multi-account trading is now available on Kraken Desktop for Kraken Prop evaluations and funded accounts.
- Trade once on your leader account, and Kraken Desktop places the same trade on every follower account you choose.
- Size each follower with the same quantity as the leader, or scale it to its equity proportional to the leader.
- Multi-account trading on Prop is included with Kraken Desktop at no additional cost.
The limit on how many prop accounts you run was never your strategy. And it required the work of placing the same trade again and again, account by account, while the market kept moving. You asked us to remove that work, so we built multi-account trading into Kraken Desktop.
How multi-account trading worksOne Kraken Prop account leads, and the accounts you choose follow. You trade on the leader account as you normally would, from the order ticket or the chart. Orders are placed straight from Kraken Desktop, so every follower account gets the trade at once.
It works with evaluation and funded accounts, so you can run the same trade across both.
Get started- Update to Kraken Desktop 1.30.0 or later.
- Make sure you have at least two active Kraken Prop accounts.
- Open the upper-right menu and select Multi-account trading.
- Choose your leader account, choose your follower accounts, and pick a sizing option.
Your settings are saved on the computer where you set them up.
Choose how each account is sizedYou have two sizing options:
- Exact: every follower takes the same quantity as the leader.
- Proportional: every follower scales its position to its equity relative to the leader.
Multi-account trading copies the whole order, not just the entry:
- Entries, stop-losses, take-profits, and OTO orders, with their legs intact
- Amends and cancels, so when you move or cancel an order on the leader, the matching orders on your follower accounts follow
- Position closes, so when you close a position on the leader, the matching follower positions close too
Every account takes the same trade, so a losing trade loses on each one. Here is how the two sizing options play out.
Say you have a $100K leader account and a $25K follower, and you place a trade that loses $2,000.
- Exact: the follower takes the identical position and loses $2,000 too. That is 2% of the leader but 8% of the follower, so the smaller account may be near or past its drawdown limit.
- Proportional: the follower is 25% the size of the leader, so it takes 25% of the position and loses about $500. That is 2% of the account, the same hit the leader takes.
Before you turn on multi-account trading, check each follower against its own drawdown.
When an account can’t take a tradeEach account keeps its own rules. If an account can’t take a trade, Kraken Desktop skips it and shows you why in the trade activity log. No account holds up the others, so the rest still go through. If your leader account is breached, copying stops.
What multi-account trading is notMulti-account trading works on your Kraken Prop accounts only. It is not copy trading and it never touches another trader’s account.
Every follower trades in the same direction as the leader by design. That also means it is not a hedging tool, and prop-to-prop hedging breaches the Kraken Prop terms of service.
For now, multi-account trading on Kraken Prop is available on Kraken Desktop only. It isn’t available on web or mobile yet.
Run more accounts, place one tradeIf you already run more than one Kraken Prop account, open Kraken Desktop and try it today. If you’re ready to add another, you can buy an eval and put it to work. New to Kraken Desktop? Trade on Desktop and find multi-account trading in the upper-right menu.
