The popular online battle royale game Fortnite has introduced a hidden “Dill Bits” mining server location in its latest map update, triggering a renewed interest in a previously obscure Solana-based memecoin of the same name.
Videos shared on social media show players discovering underground server farms labeled with the Dill Bits logo—designed to resemble a cryptocurrency mining operation.
These secret areas appear across various parts of the map and are styled with green-lit server banks that closely resemble Bitcoin mining rigs.
Fortnite Players Earn Rare Dill Bits by Destroying In-Game Crypto Mining RigsWhen players destroy the mining equipment in-game, they are rewarded with Dill Bits, a rare and unique resource used for black-market trades within Fortnite.
The real-world cryptocurrency inspired by the in-game item, also named Dill Bits, saw a sharp price jump of 200% on April 4, reaching $0.0005.
While the spike is notable, it doesn’t match previous highs. When the token first launched in February—shortly after Fortnite introduced the in-game currency as a tongue-in-cheek reference to crypto—it surged 4,500%, pushing its market cap to $4.8 million.
Another major price movement occurred on March 9, when Fortnite released a promotional video for its “Rugpull” storyline, causing the memecoin to spike more than 4,000% within minutes.
The new “Dill Bits Mining Server” is described in the Fortnite Wiki as an “Unnamed Location” added in Chapter 6: Season 2 on the island of Oninoshima, near Outlaw Oasis.

— Documenting ₿itcoin (@DocumentingBTC) April 3, 2025The cave-like setting houses servers that “mine” Dill Bits, reinforcing Fortnite’s growing list of crypto-themed easter eggs.
Fortnite’s latest update, released on April 1 by developer Epic Games, included new quests, skins, and a crossover with Mortal Kombat.
Alongside these features came the secret Dill Bits mining zones, which are fueling speculation and excitement among both gamers and crypto enthusiasts.
Dill Bits Usable at Three Black Market Spots in Fortnite, Official Materials ConfirmAccording to Fortnite’s official materials, Dill Bits can be used at three black market locations scattered throughout the game map.
Players can spend them on Mythic and Legendary weapons as well as “Boons”—temporary upgrades that enhance gameplay abilities.
The in-game description calls Dill Bits “a bulky and confusing crypto coin you never knew you needed,” perfect for “shady black-market trades.”
While the feature is mostly a humorous nod to the crypto space, fans online have expressed surprise at how seamlessly blockchain references are being integrated into mainstream gaming experiences.
“Wow. Bitcoin really becoming mainstream for a game like Fortnite to add this little easter egg,” one Reddit user commented.
As reported, blockchain gaming saw a dramatic rise in onchain activity in January, marking a threefold increase compared to the same period last year.

Several blockchain gaming networks saw significant expansion in January. OpBNB emerged as the top-performing gaming blockchain, with Matchain ranking second.
Meanwhile, Polygon experienced a 100% increase in gaming activity compared to the previous month.
