Privy, the crypto wallet provider Stripe agreed to acquire last year, is extending its wallet tools to the XRP Ledger (XRPL) through a partnership with Ripple, aiming the integration at fintechs offering stablecoin payments and at AI agents that need to move money on their own.
Privy announced the partnership in a blog post on Oct. 13. According to the post, developers using Privy will be able to generate and manage XRPL wallets programmatically, sign transactions on the ledger, and build with XRP, Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin and other tokens on the network. The post also promises an exit route, with key and seed phrase export for anyone who wants to leave Privy.
“Privy brings proven wallet infrastructure that makes it easier for fintechs and developers to bring XRPL into real products, from payments and stablecoin experiences to emerging forms of agentic commerce,” Markus Infanger, Ripple’s SVP for RippleX, said in the post.

Payments and AI AgentsPrivy pitched two main uses. For payments companies, embedded wallets let a business offer stablecoin transfers while its customers never handle keys. For automated software, server-side wallets can let an agent hold funds and pay for things, including via x402, an open payments standard in which a server answers a request with an HTTP 402 code and the client pays before trying again.
“Stablecoins are changing how money moves, and XRPL has been building for payments from the start,” said Henri Stern, Privy’s cofounder and CEO, in the announcement.
Privy credits the XRPL with $1 trillion in value moved and more than 8 million funded accounts after 14-plus years.
What Comes NextPrivy said it plans to keep building out the integration, naming policy controls and gas sponsorship as upcoming additions meant to give developers more say over how wallets transact without making things harder for end users.
Privy announced in June 2025 that Stripe was acquiring it, saying it would keep running as an independent product. Its wallets have since become one piece of Stripe’s stablecoin push: when the Open USD stablecoin went live last month, Stripe said developers could use it with Privy embedded wallets.
Ripple, for its part, has been working to get RLUSD into mainstream payment flows, including a settlement test with Mastercard and Gemini.
