Ripple CEO addresses new hiresRipple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has reported that the company is growing significantly in countries outside of the US, citing the country’s strict approach towards cryptocurrency as the reason.
During an interview with Bloomberg Daybreak: Asia, Garlinghouse noted that most of Ripple’s job opportunities would be filled by people in countries that are more supportive of the crypto industry.
He expressed his frustration with the lack of government partnership and clear regulations in the US, citing Singapore, Hong Kong, the UK, and Dubai as examples of where Ripple is seeing growth and actively recruiting talent.
Garlinghouse revealed that 80% of the company’s new hires this year will be outside of the United States.
In an effort to challenge the SEC’s ruling that XRP tokens sold to the public are not securities, Ripple CEO Garlinghouse is optimistic about a favorable outcome for the company. He firmly believes that the facts and the law are on their side and that they will emerge victorious in court. Despite this, the SEC is seeking court approval.
Garlinghouse remains hopeful that the US has the potential to become the next crypto hub, despite the current challenging regulatory climate.
As the largest economy in the world, accounting for 22% of global GDP, there is a possibility that new administrations will bring about a shift in the regulatory environment, especially with a presidential election on the horizon.
Garlinghouse believes that Congress will eventually be called to act on the matter.
Other than this, there are all kinds of exciting new predicitons pouring in the crypto space these days. Stay tuned for more news and make sure to check out the markets as well.
