Bitcoin ETF outflows reached $430.2 million at the end of Thursday, as institutional investors continued withdrawing capital from US-listed spot products. Meanwhile, Hong Kong is expanding its crypto investment market, with four spot Bitcoin ETFs now available to investors.
Hong Kong’s private banking and wealth management assets reached HK$12.9 trillion ($1.65 trillion) in 2025, marking a 24% annual increase. Net fund inflows also climbed 79%, according to the latest Hong Kong Private Wealth Management Report 2026.
The contrasting developments put Hong Kong’s growing digital asset industry in focus. While American investors reduce exposure through listed products, Asian financial institutions are building new ways to access Bitcoin.

Fidelity’s FBTC led withdrawals with $199.9 million, followed by BlackRock’s IBIT at $105 million. Grayscale’s GBTC recorded another $49.9 million in withdrawals, while Franklin Templeton’s EZBC lost $32.9 million.
The latest session pushed November’s cumulative Bitcoin ETFs outflows to $869.8 million across four trading sessions. Net withdrawals across the latest seven finalized sessions reached approximately $1.36 billion.
Bitcoin ETFs Flows, CoinglassThat pressure follows a brief recovery on November 4, when the funds attracted $74.6 million. However, the latest withdrawals suggest institutional demand remains fragile.
The selling also comes as Bitcoin struggles to regain momentum. Investors are now watching if continued redemptions translate into further pressure on the underlying market.

Hong Kong Bitcoin ETFs Offer Another Institutional RouteHong Kong already operates a dedicated Bitcoin ETF market, rather than simply preparing to introduce cryptocurrency investment products.
The city has four spot Bitcoin ETFs listed on its exchange:
- Bosera HashKey Bitcoin ETF
- ChinaAMC Bitcoin ETF
- Harvest Bitcoin Spot ETF
- MicroBit Bitcoin Spot ETF
Hong Kong also offers two futures-based products: the CSOP Bitcoin Futures ETF and Samsung Bitcoin Futures Active ETF.
The first three spot products launched on April 30, 2024, making Hong Kong an early Asian market for regulated Bitcoin investment products. MicroBit subsequently joined the market in August 2025.
However, Hong Kong’s Bitcoin ETF market is not immune to withdrawals. November month-to-date flow figures from a regional ETF tracker showed outflows of $5.71 million from ChinaAMC, $1.58 million from Bosera HashKey and $68,880 from Harvest.
These figures show that institutional appetite remains uneven across both markets. Hong Kong’s smaller ETF market has not yet demonstrated that it can absorb the selling pressure seen in the United States.
Nevertheless, the wider financial industry continues building its digital asset exposure.
According to the Hong Kong Private Wealth Management Report 2026, 43% of surveyed firms have added cryptocurrency ETFs or exchange-traded products to their offerings. Another 25% are developing digital asset trading platforms, custody services or product ranges, and a further 28% plan to invest in digital assets within the next two to three years.
Hong Kong’s wider asset management industry reached HK$42.2 trillion, according to the Securities and Futures Commission. This gives traditional financial institutions a substantial pool of capital from which to develop new investment products.
The longer-term opportunity extends beyond immediate Bitcoin ETF subscriptions. Hong Kong is developing an institutional ecosystem that includes regulated products, custody services, and established wealth management firms.
The latest US withdrawals show that institutional demand can reverse quickly. However, Hong Kong’s expanding infrastructure displays that the competition for digital asset capital across global financial centers is far from over.
