Mariah Carey Offers Free Bitcoin Bonus to Help Fans Get Started Investing in Crypto
Award-winning artist Mariah Carey has encouraged her fans to start investing in crypto. Throughout her career, the famous singer, songwriter, and actress has won five Grammy Awards, 19 World Music Awards, and 21 Billboard Music Awards. Carey is also an inductee of the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Carey has partnered with cryptocurrency exchange Gemini to offer a small amount of free bitcoin to anyone signing up for a trading account at the crypto exchange and start investing.
She tweeted about the offer to her 21.6 million followers and posted a video of herself explaining the offer to her 10.2 million fans on Instagram on Tuesday. “I’m partnering with Gemini to give my fans $20 in free bitcoin,” she said.
Noting that her aim is “to support Black Girls Code,” the singer explained that anyone signing up for an account at Gemini using her referral code will get $20 in free bitcoin on their first investment. The offer is only for new users and verification is required.
Carey also said in the video: “Did you know that you don’t need to buy a whole bitcoin to invest? In fact, you can buy as little as $5 to get started.” The singer explained that she “learned about crypto and better understand how to invest” from free educational resources provided by the exchange and companies like Cryptopedia. She noted:
A portion of your trade will go toward Black Girls Code, a non-profit helping to increase the number of women of color in the digital space by empowering girls of color to become innovators in STEM [Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics] fields.
