According to Grayscale, a major cryptocurrency investment firm, two younger age groups of voters could have a significant impact on the outcome of the 2024 US presidential election.
BTC s traded at its highest level everIn a recent article, Grayscale points out that Bitcoin (BTC) is currently being traded at its highest level ever during a presidential election cycle.
The company suggests that millennials and Generation Z voters may be the ones to determine the outcome of this “Bitcoin election,” due to their growing concerns about financial matters.
Our team has been considering how certain trends may impact the 2024 American presidential election, and we wanted to share our initial thoughts.
Firstly, Bitcoin is currently at its highest price during a presidential election cycle, with a current trading value above $29,000, compared to the previous election cycle high of approximately $20,000 in Q4 2020.
Secondly, a significant demographic of voters that is both distrustful of institutions and concerned about their financial future could play a critical role in the upcoming election.
It is projected that the majority of this demographic will consist of young individuals, with studies indicating that Millennials and Gen-Zers will make up 44% of American voters in 2024, marking the highest percentage of voters in history.
Grayscale reports that cryptocurrency is gaining more significance in politics, as notable politicians like Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, Joe Biden, and Robert Kennedy Jr. express their opinions on Bitcoin and the wider digital asset industry.
The Bitcoin ecosystem’s progress and continued growth suggest that it will play a significant role in American elections.
As a matter of fact, early political candidates are already beginning to share their views on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
