Follow us on Google NewsStablecoins will gain more ground in real-world payments services through stablecoin infrastructure firm BVNK’s partnership with Mastercard and the Global Money Platform service introduced by the latter in August 2026.
The platform offers a single infrastructure layer to banks, fintechs and enterprises to store, convert, send and spend both traditional and stable currency.
Mastercard Combines Fiat and Stablecoins in One APIGlobal Money Platform’s core feature is a multi-currency wallet, where stablecoins and fiat currencies differ and go side by side.
There is a single API to enable businesses to switch between the two rather than having to buy separate services for accounts, blockchain infrastructure, settlement and payments.
Stablecoins linked cards and local bank payouts and treasury are also among its features. These functions can be integrated in-platform in the company’s products and sold as part of a company’s brand.
The solution can help save multiple vendors, accounts and pre-funded balances for enterprises across multiple nations, Mastercard says.

Mastercard Move Opens Access to 17 Billion EndpointsGlobal Money Platform is directly linked to Mastercard Move, Mastercard’s global money movement infrastructure that spans to over 17 billion endpoints.
This enables businesses to direct local-currency payments straight to the recipients bank accounts without the need to balance with stablecoins. Mastercard is looking forward to growth in the service with a targeted expansion to over 40 currencies in more than 200 countries and territories by 2027.
Stablecoin balances will also be available to use on Mastercard’s worldwide acceptance network, including hundreds of millions of merchants’ engagement points. Platform issuing is anticipated to be offered in over 130 countries.
Nuvei, Marqeta and Three More Firms Join Early RolloutAlongside Ontop, Bolt Group and Almond FinTech, Nuvei and Marqeta are among the first ones to be getting ready to integrate with Global Money Platform. The integration will give their users the ability to transfer seamlessly between traditional and stablecoins and benefit from existing payment and banking options.
Mastercard’s entry marks a step bigger than just making transactions possible for the stablecoin company. Now the company is offering services which could be embedded in products of other financial firms.
Mastercard Builds Toward a Multi-Money Payment SystemGlobal Money Platform is a platform built on a modular approach including send, receive, convert, store, spend and earn. The customer can start using just the services he or she requires and later upgrade to other services as desired.
Not only is this, but Mastercard is also looking to add more functionality to the platform than what is currently available in fiat currencies and stablecoins. Future support should include tokenised deposits and even agentic commerce with a view to the infrastructure for payment systems that joins a variety of money, both regulated and digital, together.
