Bitwise Investment Advisers’ Bitwise NEAR Protocol ETF, ticker NRR, is designed to hold NEAR directly and seek additional tokens through staking. The document describes shares as anticipated to list on NYSE Arca; it establishes the proposed structure.
The prospectus frames NRR’s primary objective as tracking the value of NEAR held by the Trust, minus operating expenses and other liabilities. Its secondary objective is to seek to derive additional NEAR through staking. That makes NRR an altcoin ETF-style product with an on-chain reward strategy.
Day 1 trading stats for the Bitwise NEAR ETF (NRR), the first spot NEAR ETP in the U.S.:

Net inflows: $35.5 million
Volume: $15.1 million

Bitwise’s official fund website identifies NYSE Arca as the exchange and lists September 28, 2026, as the product’s inception date. The SEC filing itself uses prospective listing language. The prospectus describes the intended listing and terms, while the fund site provides separate operational information.
NEAR’s positioning around AI and the agentic economy has featured in launch coverage, but the investment case in the filing is more concrete: the Trust holds the token and may stake it. Any thematic demand could affect market interest; it does not change the fund’s exposure to NEAR’s price or establish that staking will offset a drawdown.

The Trust will stake some or all of the NEAR in those accounts, with the sponsor selecting staking agents to operate the validators associated with staked assets.
The prospectus establishes NAV by reference to the CME CF NEAR Protocol, Dollar Reference Rate, New York Variant, a benchmark calculated from executed trading on major NEAR platforms. The fund’s unitary management fee is 0.75% annually of its NEAR holdings. Any staking rewards accrue to the Trust’s assets and can increase NAV per share.
That structure ties the potential benefit to the quantity of NEAR earned and retained by the Trust, while the fee and other liabilities weigh on net value. Network reward rates can change, and a staking objective is not a fixed coupon. Validator operations and access to staked assets also matter: the product depends on staking agents and custody arrangements, not simply on NEAR’s market price.
NRR creates and redeems shares in baskets of 10,000 through authorized participants. The process links share supply to the NEAR attributable to each share, but investors trading on an exchange may still buy or sell at a premium or discount to NAV. But the gap, alongside brokerage costs and the fund fee, can affect realized returns.

The excitement extended to Seoul, where Korean traders reportedly made $40,000 by longing NEAR during a trading competition semifinal.

— SolanaFloor (@SolanaFloor) September 30, 2026NEAR climbed above $5.40 following the ETF launch, building on a September rally that saw the token gain nearly 180%. However, profit-taking subsequently pushed the price toward $4.65. The correction raises questions about whether institutional demand can sustain the rally or whether the ETF launch has already been priced in.
Near Protocol (NEAR)24h7d30d1yAll timeFrom a technical perspective, $4.50–$4.65 is an important area for buyers to defend. A sustained recovery above $5.00 could encourage another attempt at $5.50, with $6.00 emerging as the next psychological target. Conversely, losing $4.50 could expose NEAR to further selling pressure, potentially bringing the $4.00 region into focus.
The longer-term outlook depends on whether ETF inflows remain consistent and whether staking demand translates into sustained buying pressure.
NEAR’s growing role in AI infrastructure and cross-chain transactions offers another potential catalyst. Nevertheless, its recent rally leaves little room for disappointment, making ETF flows, trading volume, and crypto market sentiment critical indicators for the next major move.
