HINC Brings High-Income Credit OnchainImproving on its design to create an attractive current income, HINC invests the bulk of its funds in high-yield bonds. The rest may be dedicated to the collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), loans at the bank, and different types of high-yield fixed-income securities. Significantly, the fund is leveraged-free, according to its fund documents.
That is distinct from tokenized products that are primarily paid in cash or made short-term government debt. Instead, it exposes investors to a segment of the fixed-incomes market in which investors would typically want a higher income coupled with a higher level of credit risk.
Importantly, going from tokens of known assets with lower risk to more complex credit-related strategies on blockchain infrastructure is the big shift.
Four Blockchains From Day OneFurthermore, HINC is opening soon on multiple chains, with the upcoming events debuting on Avalanche, Ethereum, Solana, and Sui. The offering is a combination of Securitize’s existing capabilities in the fixed-income segment and blockchain technology to enhance accessibility and transparency, Securitize states.
Securitize Handles the Tokenization InfrastructureSecuritize will assist with HINC’s operational aspects, including issuance, transfer agency, fund administration and associated tokenization services. Access to be granted via Securitize’s regulated platform, where investors must go through on-boarding processes and must meet the applicable technical and fitness requirements.
It’s the first tokenized fixed-income fund launched by Neuberger Berman, and the firm’s entry into blockchain fixed-income. It was established in 1939, and has developed a collection of investment ideas based on research over various market cycles.
Securitize CEO and founder Carlos Domingo said that it offers Neuberger’s proven fixed-income expertise to public blockchains. He also spoke about the four network rollup and the end-to-end infrastructure of Securitize that is compatible with the fund and is regulated.
