Follow us on Google NewsOndo Finance has officially unveiled the Ondo Network, marking a major evolution of its infrastructure strategy and expanding its original vision for Ondo Chain. The new network is already live and powers Ondo Perps, a perpetual futures platform launched earlier this month.
Introducing the Ondo Network, the execution layer for open financial markets, and the evolution of our vision for Ondo Chain.
Fast and private like a CEX. Verifiable like a blockchain. Non-custodial in design.

Ondo Shifts Focus from Traditional Chains to Execution InfrastructureInstead of creating a new traditional blockchain, Ondo decided to address the greatest constraint in the modern cryptocurrency markets: execution.
The company states financial applications have most typically been saddled with a difficult harmony of pace, privacy, transparency, and decentralization. Public blockchain-based exchanges are fast but lack privacy and trusted execution, while centralized exchanges boast lower latency and trusted execution with high reliance on the users’ confidence.
The Ondo Network’s objective is to achieve the kind of separation of execution, verification and settlement that the industry has not yet seen. This way, applications run transactions much faster without compromising budget and cryptographic assurances and users’ asset control.

How the Ondo Network WorksSecure Hardware Enclaves (Trusted Execution Environments) are the basis of the system, which execute applications in isolation at the fast near-centralized exchange speeds.
Instead of all network participants verifying and copying all transactions, the network has a distributed set of attestors verifying that only code they approve of is running. These attestors also perform the important security tasks and confirm interactions on the public blockchains.
Built for Speed, Privacy, and VerificationOndo says that certain technicalities are different for execution and settlement. It is important for trading platforms to be low latency and confidential, and settlement layers to be durable and verifiable.
The network has been built to function with high performance in secure enclaves and no settlement on public networks, to maintain non-custodial ownership. The system also creates signed execution records to be independently reviewed by users and auditors to validate transactions without exposing sensitive trading information.

Ondo Perps Launches as the First ApplicationOndo Perps is the Ondo Network’s first product and is a perpetual futures trading platform that aims to offer professional-grade performance without compromising on on-chain principles.
Ondo stressed the network is no longer used exclusively for derivatives trading. It will provide infrastructure for a variety of crypto-native financial products such as spot trading venues, lending protocols, structured products and tokenized asset markets.
Further, this company stated its plans to become more distributed, or decentralized, over time with expanded attestor participation, further onchain settlement capabilities, proof-of-stake security mechanisms, and more cryptographic proofs.
The launch marks a departure for Ondo from targeting blockchains as the top product. Instead, the company is focusing on essential functionality that is essential to today’s financial markets: speed, privacy, verifiability, composability and user-controlled assets.
