Securitize and Korean technology company LG CNS announced a strategic partnership, set out in a memorandum of understanding, aimed at building tokenized-asset products and onchain market infrastructure for South Korean financial institutions. The companies said Oct. 6 that they intend to pair Securitize’s regulated tokenization infrastructure with LG CNS’s technology and its ties to Korea’s financial sector.
“South Korea has one of the world’s most sophisticated technology and financial markets, making it an important market for the next phase of institutional tokenization,” Securitize co-founder and CEO Carlos Domingo said in the release.

Three Areas of FocusThe release lists three areas of collaboration. The first is market development: scouting demand among Korean and wider Asia-Pacific financial institutions for stablecoins and tokenized securities, along with joint education efforts and use cases for institutions.
The second is technology and product work, where the companies intend to explore tokenization tools tailored to Korean institutions and the country’s evolving regulatory framework.
The third covers digital asset infrastructure, including stablecoin infrastructure and digital asset treasury solutions. Subject to laws and regulatory approvals, the companies also said they will explore infrastructure that could ultimately link Korean markets to global ones and support 24/7 distribution, execution and settlement of tokenized securities and stablecoins.
Hongkeun Kim, LG CNS executive vice president and head of its Digital Business Division, said, “Korea is entering a pivotal phase in asset tokenization.”
Caveats and Korean BackdropThe release gave no financial terms, launch timeline or named product. It said anything contemplated under the deal remains subject to applicable laws, required regulatory approvals and each company’s internal approval and compliance processes. The companies said they will also explore established tokenized products, including institutional tokenized funds, where law and regulation permit.
The announcement follows a rule proposal from South Korea’s Financial Services Commission. The regulator proposed on Oct. 1 revisions to implement securities tokenization starting Feb. 4, 2027, covering stocks, bonds, funds and fractional investment securities. Public comment runs through Nov. 11.
It is also Securitize’s second Korean tie-up in about two weeks. Securitize, KB Securities and Optimism announced an MOU on Sept. 23 that targets a tokenized money market fund and a fund built on a KB Asset Management strategy as initial products.
Securitize, which began trading on the NYSE as SECZ on July 2, said in the release it has approximately $5 billion in assets under management as of September.
