World Liberty Financial has launched its USD1 stablecoin natively on the Canton Network, giving institutions a dollar-based settlement asset for tokenized real-world assets. The move adds USD1 to a blockchain built around privacy, compliance and institutional financial workflows.

.@WorldLibertyFi‘s U.S. dollar stablecoin, $USD1, is now natively issued on Canton.

It gives institutions a fully reserved dollar leg that settles atomically alongside the asset, under the same privacy and compliance controls these assets require.

USD1 Becomes Native on Canton

Unlike a token simply moved onto another chain through a bridge, USD1 is now natively issued on Canton. That allows the stablecoin to serve directly as the cash side of onchain transactions involving tokenized assets.

Collateral for derivatives, lending, issuance and redemption of assets, and cross-border payments are examples of World Liberty’s institutional use cases, among others.

The key is in having synchronized settlement. Using USD1 along with a tokenized asset in the same transaction leaves both legs of the trade without the need to interact separately with the settlement processes.

Canton also has privacy and permissioning controls for transactions. According to the network, it will allow users to manage access rights to transaction details while preserving the ability of applications to communicate with each other.

A $4B Stablecoin Enters Institutional Markets

USD1 also hit $4 billion in circulation since its launch in March 2025, World Liberty Financial reports.

BitGo Bank & Trust, National Association, oversees reserves and makes minting and redemption possible for the stablecoin. World Liberty says USD1 is fully backed by short-term U.S. Treasurys, U.S. government money market funds, U.S. dollar deposits and other cash equivalents.

The supply is growing, thereby increasing USD1’s liquidity base for scaling into institutional blockchain markets. The stablecoin will now be available for direct financial transactions in its existing network, which includes the launch of a new one in Canton.

Canton Brings $9T in Tokenized Assets

Canton is positioning itself as infrastructure for institutions moving traditional assets onto blockchain networks.

Over $9 trillion in tokenized assets are issued and processed on Canton monthly, the network reports. It also claims to be handling over U.S. $350 billion worth of on-chain U.S. Treasurys each day.

These assets can be utilized in collateral, repo and treasury-management processes. An asset transfer is also essential for institutions as cash flows can be tied up whilst delays are encountered in settlement. With Native USD1, those transactions have direct settlement to a USD1 option on Canton.

USD1 Expands Its Crypto Utility

The integration extends USD1’s use from being a dollar-backed crypto-asset to more complex financial on-chain workflows.

World Liberty and Canton highlighted 24/7 cross-border payments, institutional financing and tokenized asset issuance as potential applications. USD1 can be used for collateral in derivatives and loan transactions as well.

The deployment of the Canton is a part of the company’s initiatives to extend token financial markets. Stablecoins are similar to a payment layer to transaction, fund and settle all those traditional assets with on-chain, rather than all the payment systems.

USD1 also brings another stablecoin choice for institutions on tokenized markets for Canton. World Liberty’s launch opens a new institutional distribution path for a stablecoin worth more than $4 billion.
