It’s been reported that BRICS ministers are saying that we’re on the verge of rebalancing the global order. Check out the latest reports about this below.
Global order is closeAccording to the latest reports, it looks like the top figureheads of the BRICS alliance say that the coalition represents “a complete reconfiguration of global order as the old world fades away.”
The online publication the Daily Hodl notes the fact that foreign ministers of BRICS, which currently represent the countries of Brazil, Russia, Iran, China and South Africa, just met in Cape Town for a summit.
A new report from The Daily Star, the theme of the conference was overshadowed by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
South African foreign minister Naledi Pandor said the following:
“Our vision of BRICS is for our partnership to provide global leadership in a world fractured by competition, geopolitical tension, inequality, and deteriorating global security…
Our discussions today will therefore focus on opportunities… strengthening and transforming global governance systems”.
India’s foreign minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said that BRICS represented a “symbol of change,” and hinted that the “old ways,” maybe referring to the US dollar hegemony, was no longer equipped to deal with the current geopolitical situations.
“Our gathering must send out a strong message that the world is multipolar, that it is rebalancing, and that old ways cannot address new situations…”
He continued and stated the following:
“We are a symbol of change and must act accordingly.”
In other recent news, according to the latest reports, it seems that China continues to support the BRICS expansion and the push against the US dollar, as noted by the online publication the Daily Hodl not too long ago.
China made sure to state the fact that it’s fully backing a major expansion of the global economic alliance known as BRICS.
The country is ready to “bring more like-minded partners” into BRICS. Just in case you don’t know, the entity currently consists of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, says Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning.
