Someone commented the following: “What I shared months ago is now happening. China has initiated a MASSIVE CYBER ATTACK on United States infrastructure. The electric grid, water treatment plants, communications systems, banking, chemical plants, oil refineries, hospitals, medical devices, etc., etc.. The infiltration is far greater than being admitted.”
Someone else commented: “China does cyber attacks at the exact same time congress is debating the NDAA? Probably just a coincidence, and not in any possible way a narrative our government wants out there so people demand more security.”
More on the US government and Binance crypto exchangeAccording to a former high-ranking official of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange, is now under strict monitoring following its plea deal with the US government.
In the deal, Binance agreed to pay over $4 billion in fines and admit that it violated US laws by engaging in money laundering, violating sanctions, and operating an unregistered money-transmitting business.
As part of the deal, an independent monitor has been appointed to assess and report on Binance’s compliance with the plea terms.
The former chief of the SEC’s Office of Internet Enforcement, John Reed Stark, cited newly released filings made by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), stating that the monitor’s mandate is so comprehensive that it requires a 13-page document to present an overview of Binance’s obligations.
