Emirates Launches Crypto.com Pay for UAE Customers Booking Flights on Its Site and App

Emirates began accepting Crypto.com Pay on Tuesday, adding the option at checkout on emirates.com and the Emirates App. Customers with a Crypto.com account can now settle a booking from their wallet balance, with fares priced and settled in Emirati dirhams. Access is limited to eligible UAE residents.

The mechanics differ by device. In the Emirates App, a traveler selecting Crypto.com Pay is handed off to the Crypto.com app to approve payment, then returned to receive a booking confirmation and e-ticket. On desktop, emirates.com displays a QR code at the payment step, which the traveler scans and approves in the Crypto.com app before the ticket is issued on screen. The integration runs through Crypto.com‘s Dubai entity, which the companies describe as the first virtual asset service provider to receive a Stored Value Facilities licence from the Central Bank of the UAE.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ deputy president and chief commercial officer, tied the move to younger travelers who manage money and book trips from their phones, and credited a regulatory environment that let the companies go from signature to launch within roughly a year.

The launch implements a memorandum of understanding the two signed in July 2025 to explore integrating Crypto.com Pay into the airline’s payment systems. It also feeds the Dubai Cashless Strategy under the emirate’s D33 Economic Agenda, which targets 90% of government and private sector transactions going digital by the end of 2026.
