Investors who are involved in cryptocurrency should be aware of a warning issued by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) about North Korean hackers who are trying to sell off millions of dollars worth of stolen Bitcoin (BTC) on the market.
FBI investigation reveals warningThe FBI has identified wallet addresses associated with TraderTraitor, a North Korean hacking group also known as Lazarus, and has stated that investors should be cautious as the hackers may be looking to cash out $40 million of BTC.
The FBI has tracked recent blockchain activity related to the theft of hundreds of millions of dollars in cryptocurrency, and it’s believed that the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) may attempt to cash out the Bitcoin worth over $40 million.

The FBI has identified North Korean hackers as the perpetrators of several high-profile crypto heists in June.
These include the theft of $60 million from crypto payments provider AlphaPo, $37 million from crypto wallet provider CoinsPaid, and $100 million from crypto wallet provider Atomic Wallet.
The group also targeted other crypto entities such as Harmony’s (ONE) Horizon bridge and Sky Mavis’ Ronin bridge (RON).
Investors are advised to be cautious and avoid any affiliation with the addresses associated with the hackers.
Private sector entities should closely scrutinize the blockchain data linked to these addresses and remain vigilant in preventing transactions directly with or derived from them.
The FBI is committed to exposing and combating the DPRK’s use of illicit activities, including cybercrime and virtual currency theft, in generating revenue for the regime.
Other than this, the crypto space is seeing a lot of optimistic prediciotns about the most important digital assets out there.
