Another high-profile sports sponsorship deal by a cryptocurrency exchange has been announced with the partnership of Gate.io with FC Internazionale Milano (Inter Milan), one of the top Italian football clubs. However, the financial details of the deal remain unknown.
New Sleeve Sponsor for Inter Milan
According to the announcement yesterday (Sunday), the cryptocurrency exchange's branding will be displayed on the sleeves of the jerseys of the football club's men’s and women’s teams. Furthermore, the club's U20 team will also wear shirts with the Gate.io logo on the sleeves.
The deal also includes displaying the Gate.io brand on the club’s infrastructure. Although the cryptocurrency branding already appeared on the LED boards during the club’s match yesterday (Sunday), the logo will debut on the jersey sleeves for the next match, which is set for Saturday.

“Gate.io—which has over ten years' experience in the sector and shares our innovative spirit—will gain extensive visibility in all the competitions that we will participate in,” said Alessandro Antonello, CEO of Corporate Inter.
The sponsorship deal will further enhance the fan experience and include services specific to the club’s fan base, including opportunities to connect on and off the field. Additionally, the two will create exclusive content, joint marketing activations, and co-branded merchandise.
An Italian Football Giant
When it comes to Italian football, Inter Milan is a big name. Founded in 1908, it is one of the top football clubs in the country and won the last domestic league championship trophy. It also participates in the pan-European Champions League, which will further boost Gate.io’s brand presence.
Its home stadium, where the Gate.io branding appeared yesterday, has a seating capacity of 75,817.
In terms of social media, Inter Milan has an extensive fan following: it has 32 million followers on Facebook, 12.5 million followers on Instagram, 3 million followers on X, and 1.44 million subscribers on YouTube. Any promotion of Gate.io across these channels will put the brand in front of a massive global audience.
“This partnership aligns with our commitment to innovation and community engagement,” added Han Lin, founder and CEO of Gate.io. “We are excited to bring new and exciting experiences to Inter fans around the world, and to explore the many synergies between the worlds of football and digital assets.”
Although the sponsorship deal with Inter Milan is Gate.io’s first big-ticket entry into sports, its competitors are already backing some major sports teams. In Italy itself, Zondacrypto partnered with Inter’s competitor, Juventus, earlier this year. Crypto.com, another crypto exchange, also inked a deal with the UEFA Champions League, ensuring the appearance of its logo during all league matches.
