The Sandbox, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands and a social gaming and metaverse platform, has joined hands with Universal Products & Experiences and Amblin Entertainment to bring one of the film industry’s biggest franchises, Jurassic World, to the metaverse.
According to the press release shared with Cryptonews, the two plan to deliver new games and immersive experiences to the fans – all inspired by Jurassic World.
Furthermore, they will offer limited-edition digital collectibles. These include playable characters, dinosaurs, and wearables.

Madrid added that gamified experiences are the future of fan interaction with their favorite brands. “This collaboration allows us to deliver exactly that.”
Meanwhile, Universal Products & Experiences is a branch of Universal, which aims to create immersive and unique experiences in any product category. These include toys, collectibles, books, clothing, lifestyle, video games, NFTs, and more.
Also, Amblin Entertainment is a film production company founded in 1980 by director and producer Steven Spielberg and producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall.
Amblin is an independent production company but Universal distributes many of its productions. The two are behind some of the biggest releases in the movie industry, including Jurassic Park and Back to the Future.

Moreover, the debut gameplay experience will allow fans to enter a dinosaur sanctuary in Arizona, USA. Players are members of the Dinosaur Protection Group. They explore, collect, and complete quests to make sure the facilities are running smoothly, the team said.
Source: The Sandbox, Jurassic WorldHowever, the experience will also include a limited dinosaur egg collection. Players can hatch these and evolve different dinosaur species through their progress in the game. The eggs and dinosaurs comes in varying rarities.
Notably, the team states that the experience will not get stale. They claim that every trip to the sanctuary is different, delivering new challenges.
“The metaverse can bring our childhood dreams to life,” said Sebastien BORGET, COO and co-founder of The Sandbox. “Who hasn’t been fascinated by dinosaurs since they were a kid?”
He added that this collaboration now enables fans to explore this world in The Sandbox. They can “even create your own adventures inspired by those from Jurassic World. I’m sure these creatures that capture so much of our imagination will leave a giant footprint in the virtual world.”

Premium LAND purchasers get a Creator Asset Pack with collectible digital dinosaurs and props, said the announcement.
The Sandbox is available for free on Windows and Mac computers.
