Crypto markets vs tech stocksRaoul Pal, former Goldman Sachs executive and CEO of Real Vision, recently shared his positive outlook on crypto assets. During a Q&A session on YouTube, Pal explained that blockchain technology allows users and investors to own and operate parts of a network.
This is different from other systems where individuals can only own shares in associated companies that represent a portion of the network.
He clarified that crypto is simply a technology, specifically a distributed database using blockchain, where a token can represent value on that chain.
Unlike other networks, such as a telco network, where individuals cannot own a share of the network, in crypto, tokens allow you to have a share of the network itself.
In today’s digital era, Pal affirms that blockchain technology ensures scarcity when anything can be theoretically inflated to infinity. The experienced investor suggests that the market cycles of cryptocurrencies may surpass those of tech stocks, which they are frequently associated with.
As the value of assets is increasingly becoming digital, it is essential to transfer, record, and store value. However, in the digital world, everything can be infinitely abundant, causing the value to drop to zero.
Blockchain technology offers a solution by allowing the creation of scarcity in a digital environment.
Investing in cryptocurrency allows for direct participation in the technology, whereas with Artificial Intelligence (AI), you can only invest in companies like Nvidia and Microsoft, which are already valued at trillions of dollars.
The potential return on investment may only be 2x or 3x, whereas with cryptocurrency, it’s possible to see returns of 5x, 6x, or even 8x with companies like Tesla.
This is because owning cryptocurrency means owning a share in the entire network, including the monetization of that ecosystem. This makes cryptocurrency a powerful investment option that tends to outperform other technology investments.
