Ethereum is trading near $2,505 after slipping around 0.34% over the past 24 hours, according to Brave New Coin data. ETH remains trapped around a major higher-timeframe resistance area, but several charts suggest the next breakout could become increasingly important.
The immediate technical battle sits between roughly $2,500 and $2,700. A monthly fair value gap is capping price in this region, while liquidity data shows one of the remaining upside clusters near $2,600.
$2,500-$2,700 Monthly FVG Acting as a BarrierEthereum price is currently pressing into a monthly fair value gap between approximately $2,500 and $2,700. This area has become one of the most important higher-timeframe resistance zones because price has yet to establish a convincing close above it.
Famous crypto analyst Alex Marzell shows the monthly FVG as the “final gate” before a much larger upside move. His setup suggests that a strong weekly candle body closing above the zone could significantly improve the market structure and leave relatively little higher-timeframe resistance before ETH begins challenging previous highs.

The first confirmation would therefore come from a sustained move through $2,700. If buyers can establish that region as support, $2,800-$3,000 becomes the next logical area before attention shifts towards considerably larger targets.
$2,600 Liquidity Likely to be the Next Short-Term TargetMost of Ethereum’s nearby upside liquidity has already been cleared, but one notable cluster remains around $2,600. That makes the region an important short-term magnet while ETH continues trading around $2,500. Liquidity data highlighted by Ted Pillows shows that once the $2,600 area is taken, the distribution becomes much heavier below the market. Large long-side liquidity clusters sit between roughly $1,800 and $2,200, with another concentration closer to $1,500.
For the near-term Ethereum price prediction, this creates an asymmetric setup. A sweep of $2,600 could happen before a larger directional decision develops, but failure to extend through $2,600-$2,700 would increase the risk of traders focusing on the liquidity sitting underneath price.

Ethereum’s Supply Dynamics Favoring Bullish BiasEthereum’s supply on exchanges has dropped sharply in recent days. More than 116,000 ETH was reportedly withdrawn from exchanges over a 48-hour period, worth close to $300 million at recent prices.
The exchange-balance chart shared by Ali Charts shows total ETH held on exchanges dropping towards roughly 15.66 million, down from levels closer to 15.74-15.78 million earlier in the week. A falling exchange balance is generally watched as a sign that fewer tokens are immediately available for sale.
This does not guarantee a breakout, but shrinking exchange supply can become more important when price is already pressing against major resistance. If demand remains steady while available exchange inventory continues declining, the supply backdrop could support a stronger move once $2,700 is cleared.

Ethereum Price Prediction Keeps $3,000 in SightEthereum’s 12-hour chart shows price consolidating above a major former resistance area near $2,400-$2,450. This level previously capped the market before the latest expansion, making its successful conversion into support technically important.
Castillo Trading sees the current sideways structure as preparation for another move higher. Price has been holding around $2,450-$2,520 rather than immediately giving back the breakout, which keeps the broader recovery setup intact.
If ETH maintains the $2,400 area and breaks out of the current range, $2,700 would be the first major hurdle before the chart begins opening towards $2,900-$3,000. Losing $2,400, however, would weaken the immediate continuation structure and increase the possibility of a deeper retracement.

Key Ethereum Price Levels to WatchEthereum price is now trading between a well-defined support base and one of its most important resistance zones.
- Immediate support: $2,400-$2,450
- Short-term liquidity target: $2,600
- Major resistance: $2,500-$2,700 monthly FVG
- Breakout confirmation: Weekly close above $2,700
- Upside targets: $2,800 and $3,000
- Deeper support: $2,200
- Major downside liquidity: $1,800-$2,200
The current structure remains constructive while ETH holds above $2,400, but $2,700 is the level that would turn the latest recovery into a much stronger higher-timeframe breakout.
Final Thoughts: Can Ethereum Break the $2,700 Barrier?Ethereum price is approaching a point where the next move could carry more significance than the recent sideways price action suggests. The market is holding above former resistance, exchange balances are falling, and the remaining nearby upside liquidity sits close to $2,600.

The main obstacle remains the $2,500-$2,700 monthly FVG. Clearing this region would strengthen the bullish Ethereum price prediction and put $2,800-$3,000 into focus before the market begins considering a return towards previous highs.
Failure to break through the zone would keep ETH vulnerable to another pullback, particularly if $2,400 support is lost. For now, the setup remains constructive, but the real confirmation comes only once buyers establish acceptance above $2,700.
Why this matters
Ethereum is showing up inside the Market Structure theme, so this story is worth tracking for follow-through rather than treating it as a one-off headline.
