Institutional investors are increasingly interested in Ethereum (ETH) as the overall sentiment towards cryptocurrencies improves.
Coinshares, a digital assets manager, reports in their weekly Digital Asset Fund Flows report that ETH is the preferred choice for institutional investors, even as the crypto market experiences outflows for the first time in five weeks.
The report reveals that digital asset investment products suffered minor outflows of US$6.5m last week, following four weeks of inflows totaling US$742m.
Trading volumes were also lower than the average weekly volume for the year, at US$1.2bn compared to US$2.4bn in the previous week.
The report shows that most of the negative sentiment came from North American investors, with US$21m outflows, while Switzerland and Germany saw inflows of US$12m and US$1.9m, respectively, offsetting the negative sentiment.
Both Bitcoin (BTC) and short-BTC investment products saw outflows that were significant during the course of the past week:
“Bitcoin was the primary focus (of investor outflows), as has recently been the case, seeing US$13m of outflows, while short bitcoin investment products saw outflows for the 13th consecutive week totaling US$5.5m.”
Multi-asset investment products and Litecoin (LTC) also suffered outflows of $0.4 million and $0.3 million, respectively.
Regarding Ethereum’s price today, at the moment of writing this article, ETH is trading in the red, and the king coin is priced at $29,144.
