Lifestyle entrepreneur and television personality Martha Stewart has found success in a wide array of creative and business pursuits, including books, magazines, home furnishings, and packaged food. Now she’s bringing her brand to a relatively new medium with a blazing hot market: NFTs.
Today, Stewart launched Fresh Mint, an online platform devoted to NFTs. The Ethereum-based NFTs were created in partnership with Tokns Commerce, and while they are showcased via the Fresh Mint website, the sales and auctions actually take place on OpenSea, the leading NFT marketplace.
An NFT is effectively a receipt for a rare digital item, proving ownership for a unique creation such as a photo, an illustration, video file, or video game object. The NFT market has ballooned across the course of 2021 so far, including $10.67 billion worth of trading volume in Q3 alone.
NFT Trading Volume Hit $10.67 Billion in Q3, Up 700% From Previous QuarterStewart’s first NFTs lean on her reputation for crafty lifestyle creations and festive vibes: most of them are Halloween-themed, depicting homemade pumpkin-centric crafts or photos of Stewart wearing custom-made costumes.
The drop also features an array of “Carved Collection” auctions for photos of one-of-a-kind pumpkin carving artwork (performed by Maniac Pumpkin Carvers), alongside a signed note from Stewart.
Collectors can also bid on the chance to have their favorite NFT avatar—from collections like CryptoPunks, Bored Ape Yacht Club, or Pudgy Penguins—carved into a real pumpkin. In those auctions, the winner will not only receive an Ethereum NFT of a photo of the pumpkin, but will also have the physical pumpkin shipped to their home.
"I've been so fortunate to collaborate with talented artists, creators and entrepreneurs throughout my life,” said Stewart, in a release. “I see NFTs as a new canvas for creativity and blockchain as a vehicle to protect artists' IP and support their incredible work.”

Stewart is also a friend and frequent collaborator of rapper Snoop Dogg, who recently revealed that he has been collecting valuable NFTs under the alias Cozomo de’ Medici.
Since last month’s announcement, Snoop—who now uses a CryptoPunk as his Twitter profile picture—has tweeted out a few of Cozomo’s recent NFT purchases, including a $3.9 million piece from XCOPY and a CrypToadz avatar.
