TL;DR: Dune has launched normalized real-time feeds for spot and perpetual DEX trades, designed to help institutional desks compare fragmented blockchain-market execution.
A trader watching one decentralized exchange can miss an extraordinary amount of what is happening elsewhere. Dune wants to turn that fragmented activity into a continuous market-data feed that desks can read in something closer to a conventional trading-terminal format.
The analytics company launched Market Data Feeds on Thursday, covering spot and perpetual transactions across on-chain venues. Its product normalizes details such as instrument, venue, execution side, price and U.S. dollar value, so subscribers can compare trades that originated on different protocols and blockchains.
A practical answer to fragmented executionDune says its spot coverage spans more than 200 trading venues, with reports delivered roughly one second after the block containing a transaction. That is not the same as observing a trade before it settles, and it is not a universal record of every off-chain agreement or private execution.
The distinction matters for market makers. A quote shown on one exchange may not reflect where the last meaningful trade occurred in a pool on another chain. Comparable trade records can make it easier to understand whether a fill was competitive and where spreads are moving.
Dune also points to transaction-cost analysis: reviewing an executed order against the surrounding market at the same time. Institutional users often need that evidence to evaluate routing and risk, not merely to display a token price chart.
What the feed leaves outOn-chain data is public, but public does not mean simple. Aggregators, solver systems and private requests for quotations may represent economic activity that is not captured as a straightforward pool trade. The company has documented exclusions rather than claiming its product is an official consolidated tape for every crypto venue.
Blockchain reorganizations add another complication. Dune says corrections are delivered as separate messages, which helps downstream customers reconcile figures when the underlying chain's history changes.
The product may also appeal to data vendors that already sell equities, rates or foreign-exchange feeds and want to add crypto execution records without building their own chain-by-chain processing stack.
The opportunity is clear; the hard part will be data coverage and consistency in fast-moving markets. A normalized feed is only as useful as its handling of late records, unusual token denominations, unreliable prices and incomplete liquidity. Those are operational measures that institutional clients will be able to test over time.
