Galaxy Stadium to Open for the 2026 SeasonTexas Tech’s football stadium will forever be known as Galaxy Stadium after signing an agreement with the cellphone provider that ends in 2026. The first game under its new name will be when the Red Raiders host Abilene Christian on Sept. 5.

Galaxy Builds a Texas Crypto and AI FootprintThe deal comes after Galaxy has been expanding its Helios data center campus in Dickens County, some 60 miles east of Lubbock. The plant has a high capacity of 1.6 gigawatts for high-performance computing for supporting AI and other intensive work demands.
Helios has an existing talent pipeline to Texas Tech, as many students have gone on to work at Helios, Galaxy said.
The partnership could also lead to future projects involving artificial intelligence, academic research, workforce development and commercial applications across West Texas. For Galaxy, the relationship links its digital asset business with a broader push into the infrastructure powering the emerging “code economy.”
