US spot bitcoin and ether exchange-traded funds took in a combined $2.6 billion in net inflows last week, the strongest week for the two categories since October 2025, according to SoSoValue data. Spot bitcoin ETFs accounted for $1.9 billion of that, while spot ether ETFs drew $697.2 million, their largest weekly inflows of the year.
The swing from the previous week was roughly $3 billion, after the two categories shed a combined $392 million. Last week’s total also more than doubled the $1.1 billion they attracted in the week ending Aug. 7, which had been the best result for both since April. Bitcoin funds recorded inflows on all five sessions, peaking at $606.3 million on Thursday, with $503 million of that going to BlackRock‘s iShares Bitcoin Trust.
Bitcoin‘s move above $79,000 on Friday came alongside $22.1 billion in bitcoin ETF trading volume, up from $6.9 billion a week earlier. Bitcoin ETF assets under management rose 25.4% to $96.1 billion from $76.6 billion.
Ether funds followed the same pattern. Weekly volume climbed to $6.9 billion from $1.9 billion, and net assets rose 35.9% to $14.3 billion. Ether ETF net assets now sit roughly $2.1 billion above cumulative net inflows, a reversal from two weeks earlier when assets trailed inflows by about $711 million. Cumulative net inflows since launch stand at $53.7 billion for the bitcoin funds and $12.2 billion for the ether funds.
One week does not undo the year. Bitcoin ETFs remain down roughly $2.9 billion and ether ETFs about $191.8 million, though the combined year-to-date deficit narrowed from $5.7 billion. Those losses built through a punishing stretch in which the funds flipped year-to-date flows negative and posted the third-worst weekly outflow on record.
